Do not place your wireless router near your sleeping quarters, as it continuously emits pulsed radiation. Unplug your router when not in use - especially before bedtime. Better yet - remove Wi-Fi from your home.
Use tablets such as iPads, iPods etc. in "airplane" mode. When in airplane mode the device does not radiate (receive or transmit) radio frequency microwave radiation. Once information is downloaded onto the tablet from the internet, place the tablet in airplane mode to access applications. When "surfing" the internet, use a wired computer. Never put your cellphone under your pillow or near your head when you are sleeping.
Place cell phone in airplane mode when not expecting a call. This mode is ideal when you are only using your phone as an alarm, for music, or if a child is "playing" with it. Again, in airplane mode the device cannot emit radio frequency microwave radiation.
Move electronic and electric devices (including clock radios and answering machines) away from your bed area.
Use wired keyboards and a wired mouse.
Eliminate use of DECT Baby Monitors - these devices transmit radio frequency microwave radiation constantly.
When using a laptop, use an external keyboard attachment. This increases the distance from the laptop and reduces the electromagnetic field exposure.
Remove your DECT cordless phone from your bedroom. Better yet - replace your DECT phone with a corded phone.
Make sure your bed is not against the wall directly opposite the location of your Smart Meter. Some meters pulse radiation every 60 seconds.
Never place your laptop directly on your lap. Place it either on a table or the floor.
Minimize use of wireless games such as Wii, Xbox, Gameboy etc. High levels of radio frequency microwave radiation are emitted from both the hand held controllers, as well as the base.
Remove compact fluorescent light (CFLs) from you work and living spaces. Clean LED's are the future.
For people who insist on using a cellphone:
a) give preference to texting and using the speaker phone;
b) reduce your time connected to the network;
c) always completely power off at bedtime;
d) never put your cellphone under your pillow or near your head when you are sleeping.
Avoid use of electric blankets and water beds as they emit electromagnetic fields, known to affect sleep patterns.
To access the Internet in every room in your house without Wi-Fi, purchase a D-Link Home Plug system to use with a Hard Wired Router. Hand held devices and laptops can be easily connected to the Internet without the use of WiFi. (some devices require an adapter)(DO NOT use a wireless router as shown in the video)
